The biggest attraction of the chaat available at Sangam Chaat stall is the delicious combo of samosa and tikia. In the chaat here, samosa and tikki are fried properly on the pan, which gives it a crispy and wonderful taste. Ajay Kumar tells that in the chaat he adds black salt, roasted cumin powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, fresh salad, curd and his own special chutney made of tamarind and jaggery. Along with this, chickpeas, peas and sweet-sour chutney enhance the taste of the chaat. By adding these spices and ingredients in every plate, the taste of chaat becomes special and people never get tired of praising it after eating it.
Story of 90 year old pan
Ajay Kumar says that the tawa of this stall is about 90 years old. This pan was bought by his father and today Ajay is keeping it as an heirloom. His father had taught him this work, and even today Ajay makes chaat on the same pan. This pan has been with Ajay since his father’s time till now, and his father’s old memories and hard work are associated with making chaat on this pan.
Business and occasional service
Chaat is available at Sangam Chaat stall from 3 am in the morning to 7-8 pm. Ajay explains that the price of a single plate of chaat is only Rs 20, while Rs 40 is charged for a double plate. People also like half plate, which is available for just Rs 20. The name of his stall is “Amar Sangam Chaat Ghaghra”, which has become famous in all the nearby districts.

Ajay says that people come to his stall not only from Gumla or Lohardaga but also from other districts like Ranchi, Dhanbad, Tata, Mahuadand, Bishanpur. When people from different parts of the state pass through this road, they definitely stop here and enjoy chaat. The specialty of Sangam Chaat is that it has a mixture of freshness, tradition and taste, which attracts people from every section of the society. His stall is not only a chaat shop but an example of the tradition and hard work taught by his father.
